Allegheny County Tax Deadlines Extended

Dear Allegheny County Homeowners,

Wanted to share some information about real estate tax due dates. If you have already paid, or if your taxes are escrowed with your monthly mortgage payment, this probably won't apply, but the dates have changed.

Because of the effects of the COVID-19 Pandemic, the office of John K. Weinstein, Allegheny County Tax Collector has extended tax deadlines, including the discount deadline, which passed on March 31.

According to the Allegheny County Treasurer's Office website, the new dates are:

April 30 – End of 2% discount payment period.
May 31 – End of Gross (Face) payment period.
June 1 – Delinquent tax period begins. One time penalty is 5% of gross tax due. Interest is 1% of gross tax per month for each month taxes are delinquent.
June 30 – Annual deadline to apply for Senior Citizen Tax Relief.
July – Treasurer’s Office mails delinquent notices for all unpaid current taxes.

Hope this helps!

Izzy
